Today is the 57th anniversary of the patent of the barcode. Do some research to find out what barcodes are all about. Why do we use them? How are they designed? How are they incorporated into some packaging designs? Compose a paragraph (5-7) sentences with your findings. Then, check out this website: Japanese Barcodes

Barcosed are the codes that are generated to distinguish different objects from other ones. Every object of the same thing has the same barcode. They are designed when the scanner picks up the digital code that is imprinted in the barcode....i think. When you scan the item, the reader scans the code and tells the server what that item is.

The barcode was invented by a Mr. Woodland and Mr. Silver. It actually wasn't all straight lines when first patented. They were circles! They were first used to label railroad cars, but weren't really popular to use until they were used in supermarket checkouts. It is obvious that barcodes are essential to day to day life and serves as a greater good to everyone.

the first form of a barcode was created in 1932 by some students at Harvard graduate school in the form of punchedcards. a mand named Norman Woodland was told by his friend Bernard silver of a task his boss told him to do and woodland was fascinated. with the ink it took to make the patterns and the ink instability it was very expensive to make the barcodes. barcodes are actually on a black background with white dashes instead of the other way around. Woodland recieved the National Medal of technology in 1992. in 1970 the widespread use of the barcode was finally used

I found out that bar codes have slowly become an essential part of modern civilization. Their use is widespread, and the technology behind barcodes is constantly improving. We use barcode for almost every item purchased from a grocery store, department store, and mass merchandiser has a UPC barcode on it. They are normally design by lines and the spacings of parallel lines.

A barcode is the method of automatic identification and data collection. it was invented by Joseph Woodland and Bernard Silver on October 7, 1952. The Woodland and Silver bar code can be described as a "bull's eye" symbol, made up of a series of concentric circles. it was first thought of to be invented for a market inorder to find an easier way to find out about a product. Bar code was first used commercially in 1966. The barcode has become a necessity in our lives and most of the time we dont even notice it is there. Barcodes makes teh process of buying, selling and returning much much easier and faster. a barcode looks like a rectangle of white and black lines .. the code in it after being scanned reveals information on a particular product.

A barcode is an optical machine-readable representation of data. They are desgined to come in patterns of squares, dots, hexagons and other geometric patterns within images. These images are termed 2D matrix codes or symbologies. Packaging barcodes are those usually used on the shipping cartons that contain many items. The shipping barcodes are used for to give information about the contents.

Barcode are very important. We use barcodes to purchase everything. Everything we buy has a barcode on it. They are designed by ccreating widths between parallel lines and are read by a bar code reader. Bar codes can be placed on items to trace them such as luggage and nuclear waste. They are also used for tickets to allow people into sporting events.
